Brother Francis (online alter ego of Erin Matthiessen) is a former modern dancer & choreographer, university instructor, and Benedictine monk, now working as a Registered Nurse at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Though an atheist, he is also an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church, a Transcendental Meditation practitioner, a student of yoga, and some kind of Buddhist. He lives with his Registered Domestic Partner Jim in a crumbling old house in Southeast Portland.
